Obama’s Own Administration Destroys Narrative Claiming Flynn’s Contact With Russia Was Illegal

Nearly all the news surrounding Russia, Trump, and everything and everyone in between is Fake – lies, distortions, and purposeful misunderstandings of the law.

The problem is, of course, that there’s a lot of Fake News about Trump and Russia. So much so, mind you, that it’s easy to miss some of the biggest lies. The whoppers can slip past you while you’re busy fighting off the smaller ones.

Among the biggest? Michael Flynn, military general and former Trump advisor, committed a crime when he talked to Russian ambassadors before Trump’s inauguration.

We’ve been dealing with ‘Russian hackers,’ ‘collusion,’ and secret meetings for so long that we’ve pretty much accepted this fact. Flynn broke the law.

Except, of course, that he didn’t. And we have proof.

Because the voices coming to his defense all worked for Obama.

The Independent Journal Review reports:

Former President Barack Obama’s State Department spokesman Mark Toner was well aware of contact between incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, and he was asked if there was a problem with it.

“Not necessarily,” Toner responded.

“He’s part of the transition team, that’s really for him to speak to and how they are engaging. … The president elect is also engaged on his own with many world leaders.”

That’s evidence enough. But my favorite part is right here.

“We stand ready if they want to work through the State Department to contact some of these individuals. We have no comment or no problem with them doing such on their own.”

Read it again, if you must.

Every reporter in that room wanted to hear, ‘yes, this is illegal.’ Pity they didn’t get what they were fishing for.

But Toner’s answer is spot-on. ‘Were Flynn’s conversations illegal?’ Well, not if he was helping Trump transfer power.

And that’s the point. Advisors are there to help ease in the new president. Flynn’s conversations were doing exactly that.

And it’s not just Obama’s officials that are saying he’s innocent. Flynn’s got some very brilliant lawyers on his side.

Legal scholar Alan Dershowitz said that Flynn’s conversation with the Russian ambassador during the transition period was not only legal, but it was the “right thing to do to stop the president — lame duck — from tying his hands.”

In short, Flynn had to talk to Kislyak. He had no choice.

Expect silence from the MSM.
