Paul Ryan’s big efforts to thwart the Trump presidency are coming to an end. And the biggest leader in the charge to defeat him? Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
(As a rule, you don’t want to run afoul of any Paul in Congress. Those guys have a mind of their own, and they stick to it.)
My Right America has already written about the ‘ObamaCare Lite’ and ‘RyanCare’ and ‘disaster of a health plan that’s ObamaCare in every single way’ that is now being pushed through Congress by none other than Paul Ryan himself.
The plan, in summation, does nothing, solves nothing, and keeps all of the problems and unconstitutional orders that ObamCare did when it was first passed.
Trump supports the plan, but there’s evidence that he’s being taken for a ride. Paul is trying to deceive both him and the American people.
And, ironically, the person fighting back is one of the people who promised never to support Trump – Rand Paul, a man who is now proudly supporting Trump.
(In all honestly, Trump’s ability to bring people together is nothing short of unprecedented.)
Paul recently spoke out against RyanCare, and he was blunt. Breitbart reports:
We just had an election about change, about draining the swamp. President Trump promised to be different, and I believe he sincerely wants to be.
But he is being taken for a ride through the swamp right now on ‘Obamacare Lite.’
For four STRAIGHT elections, REPUBLICANS ran on repealing Obamacare, and now ‘Republican orthodoxy’ – I’m told – is keeping insurance subsidies, mandates, taxes, and insurance company bailouts.
Though I want to believe the glass is half full, I am tempted, very tempted, to smash a glass half full of Obamacare Lite — smash that glass to smithereens!
For the record, and in case anyone’s forgotten – Rand Paul is a doctor himself, and he knows his stuff when it comes to healthcare.
He’s certain that RyanCare is just as bad as ObamaCare. And, to be clear, he’s certain ObamaCare was bad, bad, bad.
But what really stands out in Rand Paul’s brilliant essay is this – it’s not anti-Trump to oppose this bill, even if Trump supports it. In fact, quite the opposite – it’s pro-Trump.
Given how the president is being deceived, anyhow, opposing RyanCare is almost a patriotic act. It will save the country billions.
It will save the lives of Americans across the continent. And it will protect the freedoms of all of us from Big Government interference.
At least, that’s what Rand Paul thinks. But what does he know? He’s only a doctor, a senator, and an honest man.
Ryan needs to drop this bill, and step down.
