Guess Who’s Set To Testify On June 8th?! Will Trump Stop Him?!

Donald Trump this week will face one of the most difficult decisions he’s ever faced: saving his own reputation, protecting national security, or keeping his promises of transparency. And picking one might hurt the other two.

No one said this would be easy. But at least we have a businessman president that’s used to making tough decisions.

And the decision this week? Whether to use his powers as president to stop legal testimony that could damage US foreign policy. Which would also hurt his image. Or use his powers to remain transparent, and possibly damage US foreign policy.

James Comey’s testimony before Congress is going to be interesting as hell, to put it bluntly.

The Daily Caller reports:

Kellyanne Conway said Donald Trump will decide whether he will use his executive privilege to prevent former FBI Director James Comey from speaking with lawmakers next week.

Comey is scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee next Thursday, where he will be questioned regarding Russian interference in the election.

Conway, who is a counselor to the president, wouldn’t say if Trump will invoke his presidential powers to stop Comey from testifying.

Trump, as president, can stop Comey from testifying, if the material he’s revealing is important to national security. And it might be.

The problem here is simple – half the country, due to fake news and liberal idiocy, thinks that Trump used Russian hackers to win the election. (Not even that hackers helped, mind you, but that Trump used them on purpose.)

The story hasn’t died, despite a complete lack of evidence. And Comey being fired only helped to give the story credibility.

Now, the solution might be to simply allow Comey to testify, which would prove Trump innocent. But there’s more to it – Trump’s campaign was at work very early on to get better relations with Russia.

And if some of those talks are revealed in public testimony, it might scare away Russia, and other countries. Foreign powers do like their talks to remain secret.

So, behold your Catch-22 – if Comey testifies, Trump is proven innocent, but Russia might be scared away. If Comey doesn’t testify, Russian relations are safe, but Trump looks guilty. And libs and Democrats use that to block the rest of his agenda, forever.

Of course, the third option is a longshot, but doable – just discredit Comey.

“The last time he testified under oath, the FBI had to scurry to correct that testimony. He was off by hundreds of thousands in his count — his sworn testimony count — of the number of emails that Huma Abedin allegedly sent to her husband Anthony Weiner.”

Comey’s been wrong before. He’ll be wrong again. And we’ll all be watching.
