Look Who Is Being Called On To Replace James Comey As FBI Director

The best news of the day, believe it or not, isn’t that the coward James Comey was finally fired. And that’s very good news in itself.

No, the best news today is who the president’s top pick is to replace Comey. And when you see his name, you’ll be jumping for joy, as I did.

Because, of all the names that have the power to right every wrong that Comey did – all the guys that would go after people who leak names to the press, all the guys that would prosecute lying Hillary for her crimes – of all those guys, there’s one name that has already proven his worth.

And that’s South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy. The very same Gowdy from the Benghazi committee, the same who grilled Susan Rice mercilessly for her pile of lies.

That Trey Gowdy.

The Conservative Review reports:

President Donald Trump shocked the nation Tuesday by firing FBI Director James Comey, largely due to his unprofessional handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation as well as some of his public statements in congressional hearings on that and other matters.

Among the celebrations and grievous outcries percolating on the Internet, one name consistently drew mention as the top potential replacement as head of the FBI, that being Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a veritable rock-star in conservative circles.

Gowdy, it seems, is one of four possible choices. Mind you, the other three will also make you cheer: NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Chris Christie and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.

Honestly, David Clarke as head of the FBI would make just as many liberal heads explode as Gowdy would. Either is fine with me.

The internet, though, is clearly on the side of Gowdy, and I can’t say I blame anyone for the choice. Trey has built a reputation as a ruthless prosecutor and an extremely honest man.

Even Democrats have noticed.

As I’ve said before, even broken clocks are right twice a day. Which means Democrats can sometimes be right about things. And this broken clock is firmly for Gowdy.

And the unbroken clocks? They’re excited about a potential Gowdy/Sessions partnership.

Talk about a team of legal rockstars.
