The President Only Had 3 Things To Say In Response To James Comey’s Testimony

Donald Trump is a master of Twitter – able to win entire arguments in just 140 characters. Much, of course, to his enemies’ furious annoyance.

So it’s not surprising that he was able to summarize, acknowledge, and completely end fired James Comey’s testimony in just three sentences. Trump does get right to the point.

And his main points? Basically, this: ‘Comey is right. I’m not under investigation.’ And then, ‘please, given that, can we finally work together?’

The Blaze reports:

President Trump has released only a three sentence response [to James Comey’s testimony on Thursday].

The statement was made through Marc E. Kasowitz, the president’s private legal counsel.

“The president is pleased that Mr. Comey has finally publicly confirmed his private reports that the President was not under investigation in any Russian probe.

“The president feels completely and totally vindicated. He is eager to continue to move forward with his agenda.”

Now, mind you, the Comey testimony went on for three hours. And there’s a lot of nonsensical BS questioning that can happen in three hours. So it’s easy to miss the most important points.

Luckily, Trump and his legal-savvy team have highlighted them for us – and the number one point is this: Trump was never under investigation.

Again, to make that clear – Trump was never under investigation. Never. Those reports from the New York Times, and the Washington Post, and the Independent, and every other mainstream media news outlet were lies, lies, lies. Trump was never under investigation by the FBI.

Which means, in short, that Trump was always telling the truth. The media was lying.

And James Comey just confirmed it.

Comey discussed telling the president he was not under investigation. “I discussed with the FBI’s leadership team whether I should be prepared to assure President-Elect Trump that we were not investigating him personally.”

And then, here it is:

“That was true; we did not have an open counter-intelligence case on him. We agreed I should [reassure him] if circumstances warranted.”

“During our one-on-one meeting at Trump Tower, based on President-Elect Trump’s reaction to the briefing and without him directly asking the question, I offered that assurance.”

Read that last sentence again, if you must.

The president was not only never under investigation – he never directly asked about it. Comey just volunteered it.

In short, Trump never even needed to know if he was under investigation. And he didn’t ask for that reassurance – the FBI volunteered it.

Trump doesn’t care if he’s investigated. He just wants to get on with the business of running the country.

We should follow his lead.
