All of Trump’s biggest promises on the campaign trail were about one thing: money. He knew how to manage it, and save it.
Today, he’s giving proof of that.
Because there’s no bigger way to save America money than to keep it in the pockets of ordinary Americans. And there’s no easier way to do that than Tax Reform.
Thank God we’ve got a budget for it ready to go.
The Daily Caller reports:
The House passed its Fiscal Year 2018 budget Thursday, equipped with reconciliation instructions for tax reform, allowing GOP lawmakers to move forward with their plans to overhaul the tax code.
The House budget calls for $200 billion in mandatory cuts, [and] the reconciliation bill will allow the GOP to pass the measure without the threat of a Democratic filibuster.
Republicans are looking to pass tax reform legislation before the end of the year.
The key part of this new deal is, of course, the phrase ‘without the threat of a Democratic filibuster.’ Because if we’ve learned one thing from trying to get previous deals passed, it’s that it’s best if as few Democrats are involved as possible. They tend to slow things down.
And on a deal for tax reform, they’d do their best to stop everything altogether. After all, it means that they’d be giving up their ability to take money from ordinary Americans, and redistribute it elsewhere.

And $200 billion dollars is a lot of money – enough, in fact, that Republicans were at first unsure that they could even pull it off.
House conservatives were previously hesitant to get on board due to the lack of detail received on the plan, but the outline released provided enough specifics to sway members of the House Freedom Caucus.
The Caller is, as usual, using fair but dull language to describe something pretty important. Because what really happened is better described in this way:
‘Conservatives weren’t going to pass a budget that set themselves up for Tax Reform unless they actually had a plan for tax reform – anything else would have meant giving libs the chance to make government spending even worse. A plan has been released, and it’s good enough that everyone is ready to go.’
(Still slightly boring, I suppose, but…well, we are talking about Tax Reform.)
Saving America money is one of the central promises on which Trump ran for office.
And this new budget could fundamentally change everything for the average American.
