There are always threats of nuclear war on the world stage. We just didn’t think it would come from this country.
Daily we hear about threats from Iran and North Korea. These rogue nations have boasted about using nukes to destroy their enemies, i.e.: the United States.
But there are other nations with real nuclear tech. And they have the ability to unleash hell on earth, should they be provoked.
Most nations are reluctant to use their nukes, ever. Except for this sleeping bear, who might not need much of an excuse.
From Free Beacon:
Russian leaders are threatening to unleash a nuclear attack if the United States or its NATO allies enter the Ukrainian territory of Crimea, according to recent comments that appear to come in response to an increased military buildup by Western forces in the region.
Vyacheslav Alekseyevich Nikonov, a Russian lawmaker, discussed Moscow’s willingness to use nuclear weapons in response to U.S. action in Ukraine, telling an international meeting of security officials on Sunday that Russian military officials have “discussed Moscow’s willingness to use nuclear weapons in a conflict with military leaders in NATO,” according to reports.
“On the issue of NATO expansion on our borders, at some point I heard from the Russian military—and I think they are right—If U.S. forces, NATO forces, are, were, in the Crimea, in eastern Ukraine, Russia is undefendable militarily in case of conflict without using nuclear weapons in the early stage of the conflict,” Nikonov was quoted as saying by Defense One during the conference.
With the ongoing nonsense about Russian hacking from the liberal media, it’s almost a surprise to see them upset about this. Russia is supposed to be an ally. Yet with all the hate coming from the left, they have little reason to want to cooperate with the United States.
Even a somewhat insignificant issue is getting them testy. Why else would they resort to the worst kind of threat—using nukes—over the Crimean border?
NATO and Russia have never been friends. Russia frequently accuses the military alliance of jeopardizing its security. The real story is Russia knows NATO is the only thing preventing them from invading Europe and gobbling up more countries.
But will they use nukes? Hopefully not. Should the West—and liberals—continue to provoke them, however, all bets are off.
